INGREDIENTS
- 1 lb (450g) large shrimp, peeled and deveined
- 3 tablespoons butter
- 4 cloves garlic, minced
- 1/4 teaspoon red pepper flakes (optional)
- Salt and black pepper to taste
- 2 tablespoons fresh lemon juice
- 2 tablespoons chopped fresh parsley
- Lemon wedges for serving
HOW TO MAKE
1. Prepare the Shrimp:
- Rinse the shrimp under cold water and pat dry with paper towels.
- Season the shrimp with salt and black pepper.
2. Cook the Shrimp:
- In a large skillet, melt 2 tablespoons of butter over medium-high heat.
- Add the shrimp to the skillet in a single layer.
- Cook the shrimp for about 2 minutes on each side until they are pink and opaque. Remove the shrimp from the skillet and set aside.
3. Make the Garlic Butter Sauce:
- In the same skillet, add the remaining 1 tablespoon of butter.
- Add the minced garlic and red pepper flakes (if using), and sauté for about 1 minute until fragrant.
- Pour in the fresh lemon juice and cook for another minute.
4. Combine and Serve:
- Return the cooked shrimp to the skillet and toss to coat them in the garlic butter sauce.
- Cook for an additional 1-2 minutes until the shrimp are heated through.
- Remove the skillet from heat and sprinkle with chopped parsley.
5. Garnish and Enjoy:
- Serve the garlic butter shrimp immediately, garnished with lemon wedges.
