- 2 cups cooking grits
- 1¼ cups milk

HOW TO MAKE
1. Seasoning:
Sprinkle salt, pepper, and Cajun spice over the chicken and shrimp.
2. Cooking Chicken:
Warm some oil in a pan over medium heat and start cooking the chicken pieces.
3. Adding Shrimp:
Once the chicken begins to brown, add the shrimp. Cook until both the chicken and shrimp are fully cooked.
4. Preparing Grits:
In a separate pot, combine water and milk for the grits. Add a pinch of salt for flavor.
5. Cooking Grits:
Bring the mixture to a boil, then gradually stir in the grits, stirring occasionally to prevent lumps.
6. Simmering Grits:
Lower the heat, cover the pot, and continue to stir occasionally.
7. Cooking Time:
Let the grits cook for about 30 minutes or until they reach a creamy consistency.
8. Seasoning Grits:
Season the cooked grits to taste with butter, salt, and pepper.
9. Serving:
Spoon the grits into a bowl, then top with the cooked chicken and shrimp mixture.
10. Garnishing:
Finish by garnishing with chopped green onions and serve immediately.
