Ingredients

All-purpose flour 1 cup
Baking powder 1 ½ teaspoons
Salt ¼ teaspoon
Large eggs 5 separated
Sugar 1 cup
Milk 1/3 cup
Vanilla extract 1 teaspoon
Tres Leches Mixture:
Heavy cream 1/4 cup
Sweetened condensed milk 14 ounces can
Evaporated milk 12 ounces can
Icing:
Heavy cream for whipping 1 pint
Sugar 3 tablespoons
Maraschino cherries for garnishing

The cake, filling and topping with 4 types of milk in the filling makes a three-layered excellent cake for milk lovers worldwide. This Latin American dessert recipe is sure to bring a smile on every face.

Step 1

Start with preheating the oven to 350 degrees. Grease the pan and sprinkle flour on a 9/13 inch cake pan.

Sieve the dry ingredients flour, salt and baking powder into a bowl.

Separate the eggs and beat the yolks with the sugar on max speed till the yolk turns pale yellow. Pour in the milk and vanilla.

Next, pour the egg yolk and the flour mixture and mix gently till nicely combined.

Now beat the egg white in max speed till soft peaks are formed. Pour in the rest sugar while the mixing on and beat till the egg white is turned stiff but not dry. Gently pour the egg white mixture into the batter till just combined. Spoon the batter into the prepared pan and spread out evenly.

Bake for 35 to 40 minutes till the cake is made. Allow to cool the cake in the pan and turn upside down onto a platter

Mix the heavy cream, condensed milk ad evaporated milk in a small jug. Prick the cake surface with a fork and pour the milk mixture on top of it. Allow the mixture to settle inside and get absorbed. You can even totally soak the cake, that’s better.

Whip the sugar and the cream together and spread it evenly on top and sides of the soaked cake and garnish with maraschino cherries.

Refrigerate the cake for several hours since the cooler the cake, tastier it is.
